The Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl games are set in the Sinnoh region.

Rich in nature, with Mount Coronet towering at its heart, Sinnoh is a land of many myths passed down through the ages.

Turtwig

Legendary Pokémon

During your adventure, you’ll be able to encounter the Legendary Pokémon Dialga in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Palkia in Pokémon Shining Pearl.

Dialga and Palkia are Legendary Pokémon that appear in the myths of the Sinnoh region. It is said that Dialga is the master of time, while Palkia is the master of space. Both are known as deities to the people of Sinnoh.

How will these two Legendary Pokémon be involved in your story?

At a glance, this mysterious Pokémon statue in Eterna City looks a bit like Dialga and a bit like Palkia as well—but it’s unclear who created it, in which era, and for what purpose.

Dialga

Steel/Dragon
  • Dialga has the power to control time. It appears in Sinnoh myths as an ancient deity.
  • This Pokémon is spoken of in legend. It is said that time began moving when Dialga was born.

Palkia

Mount Coronet and the Spear Pillar

Mount Coronet towers over the center of the Sinnoh region, its peak always covered in snow. This huge mountain is sacred to the people of Sinnoh. A massive maze sprawls within it, but the deeper you go, the stronger the wild Pokémon you’ll encounter.

On the peak of Mount Coronet is the Spear Pillar, which appears to be the ruins of an ancient temple. No one knows if the people of old once used this place for their rituals, or if it was perhaps the dwelling of some sacred creature.

Legendary Pokémon Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf

These three Legendary Pokémon feature prominently in many of the Sinnoh region’s myths.

What role will Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf play in your adventure?

Uxie is called the Being of Knowledge.

Mesprit is called the Being of Emotion.

Azelf is called the Being of Willpower.

Three lakes represent the Sinnoh region.

Sinnoh boasts three lakes filled with bountiful water: Lake Verity, Lake Valor, and Lake Acuity. According to regional myths, Legendary Pokémon slumber at the bottom of these lakes.
